Christopher Niedt  focuses broadly on the effects of metropolitan growth and decline on race and class inequality. Chris has studied the political history of inner-ring suburbs, their recent turn toward gentrification, and the viability of regional approaches that aspire to more equitable and inclusive forms of prosperity.  He has also collaborated with nonprofit groups on studies of local living wage laws and the effects of redevelopment. He holds a doctorate in geography from the University of California, Berkeley.
