Margaret Cowell (governance)

Margaret Cowell focuses on deindustrializing regions across the United States, regional resilience, and polycentrism. Her research and teaching interests include economic development, urban politics, regional development, and economic restructuring. Prior to her current position, she was an assistant regional economist at the Buffalo Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She received her BA in Urban Studies from Brown University, an MA in urban planning from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a PhD in city and regional planning from Cornell University.
